WHAT TO VISIT?
From our facilities, as they are really close to the coast, we suggest you go through different Town Halls, stopping at:
MALPICA:
Its capital is Malpica town, located in a peninsula with the fishing port on one side and Area Maior beach on the other. Its coast goes from Monte Nariga to Punta de Razo, which is the western end of Baldaio beach. We can find in this coast Islas Sisargas, which are a natural shelter for marine birds, seagulls and cormorants and there is a small lighthouse. Nowadays it works automatically but during many years it worked thanks to lighthouse keepers.
Apart from the capital of the Town Hall, there are also some important places such as Buño town and Mens village with a Romanesque church and medieval Towers of Mens.
PUENTECESO
It has two urban areas: Ponteceso (capital of the Town Hall and Eduardo Pondal’s home) and Corme Porto (maritime village) where we can find O Roncudo cape, famous for its goose barnacles. Seafood, own bank holiday, nationally and internationally known. It contributes to the Town Hall’s economic and gastronomic riches. You can lie down on its beaches (Balares, Niñons, etc.) and go sightseeing (Pedra da Serpe, Torres de Mens, etc.).
LAXE
Town Hall located in north-western Galicia and constitutes together with other towns the famous “Costa da Morte”. Its main tourist attractions are its beaches because there is one for everybody: urban beaches with all services (with blue flag and quality Q distinctive), beaches where you can practice sport, isolated small beaches, sandy beaches or isolated small coves.
CAMARIÑAS
Town belonging to the region Tierra de Soneira, bordering the Town Hall of Vimianzo, but it has other important urban areas: Camelle and Ponte do Porto. Among its main economic activities we can find fishing, a little preserved fish industry, shell fishing and bobbin lace handicraft, as well as one of the first wind farms in Spain located in Cabo Vilán.
MUXÍA
It is the end part of the Camino Jacobeo, together with Fisterra. The last km of the route are an opportunity to enjoy the peculiar landscape: Moraime church – Monte Corpiño, San Roque chapel –Chorente village –Espiñeirido beach, with a panoramic view of Camariñas ria and Muxía village –da Barca Sanctuary in Muxía.
FISTERRA
Its name comes from latin finis terrae, end of land; and it is also an end part of the Camino de Santiago. Fisterra’s geographical peculiarity captivated a lot of people who wanted to see the end of the world, where the land ends and the sea begins or at least this is what Roman legions thought when seeing the sun setting on the water. Its urban area consists of an ancient area grown on an amphitheatre over the port. Its houses and narrow streets are really original. In the centre we can find Arasolis Square, in the outskirts Santa Maria das Areas Church and in the historical area there is San Carlos Castle.
Visitors cannot miss visiting the lighthouse and Rostro and Langosteira beaches.
